Growing up in the Caribbean, summer is 365 days out of the year - it sounds amazing doesn’t it? The only downside about this is that you don’t miss dressing up for summer until its gone. I moved to Chicago in 2018 and, lets be honest, you basically have winter for most of the year. Summer is so craved that you dream about all the outfits you will wear when it comes. That being said, I can’t wait to share my 2020 summer musts and wish that summer will stay forever!
#1 Gold Jewelry
I have absolutely learned how to enjoy a gold statement piece. I was an all silver jewelry kind of girl, however I do love how gold has made a comeback and it’s here to stay. A good choker and chain piece are great to stack together! Best part, whether you are ready to splurge or save, there are plenty of options out there. Pro tip: look on Amazon as they have great look a likes!
#2 Sun Hat
I mean, who doesn’t like a sun hat and channel all the “Sex and The City” vibes - I do! Although I say sun hat, I do enjoy hats in general and for all seasons (true fan of felt hats in fall). For summer, straw hats are the best and below are my favorites for this season.
#3 Swimsuits
Swimsuits are everything in summer of course. Whether you like bikinis, one pieces or high waisted - everything is a must. While I’m spending my time in Florida before my move to the UK, I have ventured in a few different brands to find the best. Currently, I am a big fan of Maaji and I find that even if it might be a splurge, they are reversible and absolutely worth it! Pro tip: keep an eye out on Nordstrom Rack or Hautelook because they have the best sales for them (in-store and online).
